On May 12, 2026, Sewa Bharti, Shakurpur became the backdrop for an inspiring act of student-led social change. Two high school students — Vedika Jain and Srishti Aggarwal — came together to create a fully functional Book Bank and library for underprivileged children in the community. The event was co-sponsored by Career Width, and its CEO, Manvee Bansal, personally attended the drive — a meaningful show of support for youth-led education initiatives across India.
A Student’s Vision, A Community’s Gain
The driving force behind the event was Vedika Jain, founder of Kitaab4U — a grassroots initiative she built with the sole purpose of collecting books and distributing them among underprivileged students and government schools. Kitaab4U was born out of a simple but powerful observation: thousands of children across India lack access to even the most basic reading materials, while countless books sit unused in homes and schools across the country. Vedika decided to bridge that gap, one book at a time.
The Book Bank Drive at Sewa Bharti represents one of Kitaab4U’s most significant milestones — a physical library space that the community can access and benefit from for years to come.
Two Students, One Powerful Mission
While Vedika provided the vision and leadership, the success of the drive was truly a collective effort.
Srishti Aggarwal stepped up in a big way by donating the racks that now form the structural foundation of the library. Beyond the furniture, Srishti was also deeply involved in the book collection process, going door to door and reaching out to her network to ensure that the shelves would not just exist — but be filled. Her contribution gave the library its form and its function.
Both took on the challenge of large-scale book mobilization, coordinating with several schools to collect donations for the drive. His efforts meant that when the day arrived, there were enough books to truly stock a library — not just fill a shelf. His persistence and organizational skills were key to making the drive a tangible success.
Together, the two students demonstrated that impactful social work does not require years of experience or large budgets. It requires empathy, initiative, and the willingness to show up.
Career Width Co-sponsors the Drive
Career Width was proud to co-sponsor the Book Bank Drive at Sewa Bharti. As a platform committed to empowering young individuals and building meaningful career pathways, Career Width has always believed that true leadership begins with service — and this event embodied that belief completely.
Manvee Bansal, CEO of Career Width, attended the event in person and was visibly moved by the dedication of the two students. She noted that the qualities on display — ownership, collaboration, empathy, and follow-through — are precisely the qualities that define tomorrow’s leaders. For Career Width, supporting initiatives like this is not just about giving back. It is about recognizing and amplifying the voices of young people who are already making a difference before the world has even had a chance to take notice.
A Library That Will Outlast the Day
What was created on May 12 is not just a one-day event. The Book Bank at Sewa Bharti, Shakurpur is now a living, breathing resource for the children of the community. The racks are organized, the books are in place, and the space is open to those who need it most. For many of the children who walk through those doors, it may be the first time they have had free, easy access to a library.
That is the real achievement of this drive — not just the books collected or the racks installed, but the habit of reading, the love of learning, and the belief that knowledge belongs to everyone, regardless of background or circumstance.
Vedika and Srishti have reminded us all that change does not wait for the right age, the right title, or the right moment. It begins the moment someone decides to act.
