We had the honor recently to be part of the Indo Global Educational Fair held by Mindtree International and Uniwizard at St. Mary’s School, Dwarka. The fair provided an ideal platform for students to explore international educational opportunities, interact with experts, and clear their academic career—freeing them from stepping out of their school premises.
The event brought together over 30 universities and education partners across the globe under one roof. Such study abroad events become highly relevant in making students aware of international education opportunities, application processes, and career paths.
Study Abroad Event Activities: Supporting Students Towards Global Education
We at Career Width feel that students should be helped with their dream of studying abroad with appropriate guidance and care. Around 70-75 Students visited the study abroad fair. Only class 11th and 12th students were invited to the study abroad event. With our participation in this event, we were able to meet students directly, learn about their dreams, and guide them on how to achieve their dreams.
Before the student interactions, the representatives were introduced to one another and had the opportunity to meet the Principal of the school, Ms. Sheelu Mathew. The students could observe that her passion for sharing with the students international exposure was evident in all aspects of the event. Her vision and passion sent out a warm welcome that made the students think beyond the box. We also got to meet the Vice principal of the school, Ms. Nisha Batra.
One-on-One Conversations With The Students
We interacted with students across different grades throughout the day. It was lovely to observe their curiosity, hopes, and eagerness to learn about opportunities for education across the world. Students approached us with carefully thought out queries on pursuing courses like medicine, data science, psychology, engineering, business, and others.
Our panel of experts guided students on some of the essential aspects, such as:
- How to shortlist the correct universities and nations based on their interest areas and professional goals
- Understanding eligibility criteria and admission tests like SAT, IELTS, UCAT, etc.
- Developing a personal study abroad plan
- Profile development through working on projects, internships, and extra-curricular activities
Through these discussions, it was understood that students today are thinking ahead. With proper guidance and planning, they can efficiently tackle the competitive arena of foreign education.
Why Study Abroad Events Important?
Study abroad activities like this fair are vital as they reduce the gap in information between students and parents. They give the opportunity to:
- Learn about different programs and schools
- Connect with professionals in the education sector
- Understand the scholarship awards and the admission process
- Gain an understanding of student life, cost of living, and jobs abroad
Conclusion: A Step Towards Global Success
The Indo Global Educational Fair brought to mind our own conviction that engaging with students at the school level is one of the most effective ways of imparting influence towards success. It also showed us how career guidance, if done at the right time, can literally shape the trajectory of a student’s career and academic life.
We would like to thank St. Mary’s School, Dwarka, and Mindtree International and Uniwizard from the core of our heart for arranging this well-structured event and inviting us to become a part of the same. Their effort in bringing global education opportunities to the doorstep of students should be appreciated.
At Career Width, we look forward to being a part of more such study abroad experiences, helping students achieve their full potential and supporting them each step along the way to fulfill their global aspirations.
